Dr. Christopher Chapman
Lead researcher
Chris is the lead researcher in the CARClab. He has significant experience in the development and deployment of bioelectronic devices.
He holds a PhD in Biomedical Engineering from University of California - Davis (2017) and bachelors degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Biomedical Engineering from North Carolina State University (2012).

Alexandra Collisson
Research Assistant
Alexandra is currently focused on public and patient interaction (PPI) to understand glioma patient interest in implanted bioelectronics for cancer monitoring and treatment.
She holds an MSc in Psychology from Queen Mary University of London (2024) and a bachelors degree from St. George’s in Biomedical Sciences (2023)

Ester Clarisse Do Couto Lopes
PhD student
Ester started her PhD in the CARClab in October 2024 on the development of materials and implanted devices for cancer bioelectronics.
She holds an MEng in Biomedical engineering from Imperial College London (2021).

Joshua Paul Ali Daoud
PhD student
Joshua started his PhD in the CARClab in January 2025 on the development of in vitro cancer recurrence models.
Joshua holds an MSc in Biomedical Engineering from Queen Mary University of London (2024) and a bachelors degree from St. George’s in Biomedical Science (2023).

Joshua Killilea

Joshua started his PhD in the Green Group at Imperial College London in 2022. He is now also affiliated with the CARClab as a co-supervised PhD student.

Daniya is currently undertaking her MSc project research in the CARClab in collaboration with Prof. Dimitrios Paraskevopoulos (Barts NHS Trust/Blizard Institute) on the measurement of glioma outgrowth in co-culture with healthy neural cells.
